Proof of identity

We are required by our regulator to verify your identity before we can open an account for you.

We aim to respond and finalise your application within a couple of hours, during normal business hours.

We just need to see a copy of the following documents:

  • Passport OR driving licence
  • PLUS a utility bill, bank statement or credit card bill (excluding mobile phone bills) from the last six months

This can be done in any of the following ways:

    1.  Take a photo of the required documents on your smartphone or tablet, and email them to newaccounts.uk@ig.com

 3.  Post a photocopy to:
